Where do we come from? is a poetic fable that illustrates a paradoxical evolution. By depicting the women in Gauguin's painting, the work seeks to shift their historical role from objects to subjects.
In the film, natural elements take on metaphorical significance, embodying the role of "the other" in the ongoing dialogue between humans and nature. These objects extend the narrative of "the other," who must continuously adapt to the environment and, in doing so, transforms. The film focuses on the moment when organic phenomena—such as cells, insects, plants, and animals—constantly change form, while simultaneously influencing one another.
