Areumbit Park investigates the sites of invisible labor pushed behind the interfaces of contemporary technological civilization, exploring how advanced systems reconfigure individual lives and senses.
Through multi-layered research—incorporating interviews, surveys, and netnography—she documents the shifting modalities of labor arising within automated structures, as well as the alienation, anxiety, and existential transformations encountered by individuals in the process.
By juxtaposing microhistory—the fragmented narratives of personal lives—with the macroscopic mechanisms of a technological society, Park restores the specific conditions of existence and the layers of sensation experienced by individuals within vast systems.
Her work organically integrates diverse media, including video, text, publications, objects, and installation, to visualize the complex networks between technology, labor, and the subject. In doing so, she constructs a multi-dimensional narrative that redefines the shifting positionality of the human within a highly digitized social fabric.
